A surveillance image of one of the two suspects, police say, attempted to rob a Bay Ridge jeweler early Friday.

Cops are looking to locate and identify the duo that attempted to burgle a Bay Ridge jeweler during the early morning hours of Friday, March 30.

According to police, at around 2:25 a.m., two unidentified would-be crooks wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks exited a white four-door sedan at the entrance of Pyramids Jewelry International Inc., 7112 Fifth Avenue. One of the men then use a hand-tool to cut the security gate while, authorities said, the other climbed in, broke the glass to the storefront to gain entry and used a hammer to break a display case once inside.

The store’s 61-year-old owner who’d been sleeping in the back of the shop then woke up and confronted the perp, cops said. The male crook then fled the scene southbound on Fifth Avenue and then eastbound on 72nd Street in the white vehicle.

No property was removed and the owner was unharmed.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.

All calls are strictly confidential.
