Diane Boyar-Spanakos was sworn in as a CriminalCourt judge by Mayor Michael Bloomberg on February 22 for athree-year term. Boyar-Spanakos is married to MichelSpanakosBrooklyn D.A. Charles Hynes. Boyar-Spanakosgraduated from the University of Arizona and received her lawdegree from Temple Law School. Previously, she had been a staffattorney in the Legal Aid Society’s criminal defense division, andsupervisor of the Brooklyn Defender Service.
