Narrows Community Theater celebrates 40 years

Let them entertain you!

The spirit of Broadway kicked up its heels as Narrows CommunityTheater celebrated the big 4-0 during a gala held at the Bay RidgeManor on September 30.

The evening included snippets from some of the organization’s mostpopular performances during its four decades of thespian success,prepared and directed by Dawn Barry Hansen, whose mother, MaureenBarry, along with David Forsyth (NCT’s first president), AnthonyMicari, and Jim Moaklar, were founded NCT in 1971.

Among those present at the event were Colonel Michael Gould, thecommanding officer of the Fort Hamilton Army Base, who reopened thebase to NCT and other neighborhood groups after years of closure tocommunity events in the wake of 9/11.
