In less than two weeks, the Ridge will be invaded by droves ofblue-faced fans, cheering on their beloved Giants as they play inthe Big Game. Ridgeites take their team seriously and every bar inour hood will fill with chanting fans, as they hope for a New Yorkvictory. Until then, the Ridge will enjoy the calm before thestorm.
On January 29, Pour House will host a benefit for a very worthycause. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is a charityorganization based out of Tampa, Florida. SOWF provides valuablesupport for Special Operations soldiers who have been severelyinjured in the line of duty. Founded in 1980, the organization alsoprovides scholarships to children of fallen soldiers and monetarysupport to families nursing injured warriors back to health.
To date, SOWF has provided over $1.3 million to wounded specialoperations personnel and their families, through fundraisingefforts all over the country. The all-day event at Pour House willkick off at 1 p.m., featuring drink specials, giveaways, rafflesand a Chinese auction. All proceeds from the cover and raffles willgo to SOWF, and its amazing efforts.
