Northfield Bank marks anniversary and a new outreach program

Northfield Bank celebrates its 125th anniversary

Earlier this month, Northfield Bank celebrated its 125th year of operation. The bank was founded on March 1, 1887 by a group of Staten Island business owners and today the bank has 23 branch locations in Staten Island, central New Jersey and Brooklyn.

In conjunction with the anniversary the bank launched a new historical website at www.eNorthfield.com/125

•Archives: Viewers of the archives can find photos and articles from the bank’s historical records, the Staten Island Advance archives, and the Staten Island Historical Society collections.

•History: This section includes a detailed history of Northfield’s past – including the street where the founders first met, the amount of deposits collected during a 1948 branch grand opening ceremony, and much more.

•Share Your Story: The community has an opportunity to share stories and memories of Northfield Bank past and present.

•Logos: View the evolution of Northfield’s logo over the past 125 years.

Northfield Bank launched its 125th anniversary celebration in November, 2011 as branch managers, business development officers, lenders and management rang the closing bell at NASDAQ. The bank will continue to celebrate this milestone throughout the year.
