As Wednesday marks the middle of the week, join youth poet Laureate and BEAT Festival performer Ish Islam, who will be giving a spoken world performance this morning at 11 a.m. in front of The Nu Hotel at 85 Smith Street.
The opening event will also feature commentary from various Brooklyn artists, arts supporters, and elected officials. Food will be provided by Milk Truck NYC.
The BEAT Festival (Brooklyn Emerging Artists in Theater) schedule will run from September 12 to 23 at venues across Brooklyn.
