The Friends of Firefighters’ (FOF) Fifth Annual Fundraiser this Tuesday, October 16 is sure to be the organization’s most exciting and grandiose party of the year.
The party—located on 199 Van Burnt Street—will kick off at 7 p.m. and will include a dinner cooked by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) members, beer and wine, a 50/50 raffle, auction items, gift bags, live music, FDNY pipes and drums, and will feature MC Trey Morgan from the Z100 radio station as well as players from the New York Giants and Jets football teams.
Cocktail attire is required; admission is $75. Since space is limited, a spot may be reserved by paying in advance. No paper ticket is required for admission, but check-in will be at the event door.
In addition, FOF will be honoring its chief contributors.
- Sean Belnik, CEO and founder of BizChair, will be recognized as an Honor Roll Inductee for his donations to FOF as its “Secret Millionaire.”
- Eve Bucca will receive the Public Service Award for her volunteer service to the organization.
- Councilmember Brad Lander will be honored as “Friend” to the Friends of Firefighters,
- The Acknowledgement of Gratitude will go to former First District Vice-President Kevin Gallagher, and the Humanitarian Award will be awarded to Jimmy Miller, owner of Angel Aerials.
- And finally, the organization’s “Men of the Year,” an homage to FDNY’s retired members, are as follows: Davie Caputo, Todd Demayo, Tom King, Ralph Mandia, Bobby Miuccio Junior, Bobby Miuccio Senior, and Telly Tellefson.
“Our goal at this point is to raise the funds to continue our services to firefighters and their families and raise awareness that firefighters are still suffering from 9/11. We’ve lost so many firefighters to cancer,” explained Nancy Carbone, executive director of FOF.
