Muffin’s Pet Connection: Week of December 13

EMERGENCY: LOST CAT…”My name is Alina and I live at Avenue Z and East 23rd Street in Brooklyn. I did not have electricity for three weeks due to Hurricane Sandy and I still have no heat. My cat, who is a Himalayan, neutered and de-clawed boy, was staying with my ex-boyfriend at Avenue W and East 24th Street.

“He said that around the 16th or 17th of November, he opened the doors to air out the basement and my cat ran out.

“My cat’s name is Josik and he is friendly but scared. He will come to people if he smells food or treats. He does not have a collar. He is also very fluffy now and weighs around 15 pounds. I put up fliers around my neighborhood and gave some to the local vet and pet store. Thank you. My phone number is 917-774-0200.”

WOOF WOOF: Hi, my name is Kimmy. I am an adorable tan/fawn short-haired, three-year old Pit Bull mix who was rescued from the street. I am spayed, a solid 48-pound flirt, and will melt your heart at first sight.

“I absolutely love being the star of the show. Whether it is cuddling in your lap, giving you hugs and kisses, playing fetch, or going on a long run with you, I can rarely get too much attention. I love other dogs, and can play in the dog run for hours. It seems that older children and I can have a fun relationship.

“To meet me or if you have any questions, please contact my rescuer Wendy Scher at wendy@wetlands-preserve.org. Hope to meet you soon. Happy Holidays!
