Business people mix and mingle in Ridge

It was a night to network in Bay Ridge as local merchants, community leaders and businesspeople gathered at Cebu, at 88^th Street and Third Avenue for a networking mixer sponsored by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Merchants of Third Avenue, the 86^th Street Business Improvement District and the Fifth Avenue Bay Ridge Business Improvement District.

“Bay Ridge is one of Brooklyn’s hottest neighborhoods,” noted Carlo Scissura, the Chamber’s president and CEO. “I always said if you have an event here, everyone will come. We have nearly 200 people here. I would like to thank the community for coming out and Investors Bank for helping us put this together.”

Events like this are helpful to the business community, said Jim Clark, the president of the Fifth Avenue BID. “It lets business know there’s a new guy in town and lets them know he’s eager to support business in Bay Ridge,” he explained. “I think it helps small business.”
