Change needs to come to climate change standards, says Jeffries

The weather was cooperating with Congressmember Hakeem Jeffries Thursday morning, August 15, when he spoke about the need for concrete federal action on climate change standards, particularly following the devastation that Hurricane Sandy wrought on much of the New York and New Jersey coastline.

Jeffries was joined near the Coney Island boardwalk and Parachute Jump–both of which were impacted by Sandy’s winds and floodwaters, by local businessowners and residents, as well as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Climate Change Action Campaign, which is in the midst of a 27-state bus tour to neighborhoods and cities around the country that have been affected by climate change.
