Late night shooting kills Sunset Parker

One man was fatally shot and another injured during a shoot-out in Sunset Park this weekend.

On Sunday, August 25, at about 1:15 a.m., police at the 72^nd Precinct responded to a 9-1-1 call of two people shot in front of 748 39^th Street.

When they arrived, they found two men wounded. Jonny Rosado, a 35-year-old who lived just around the block, was unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the face. Rosado was transported by EMA to Maimonides Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Another victim, a 24-year-old Hispanic male who has not been identified, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken by EMS to Lutheran Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police have taken two individuals into custody regarding this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
