The Vendy finalists are in and Brooklyn represents

In an intense cook-off five finalists will go head to head on Saturday September 7 in hopes of winning the Vendy Cup and being crowned the best food vendor in New York City.

El Olomega is a family-owned, has the longest running time. The truck introduced the Red Hook area to traditional Salvadoran dishes 20 years ago.

The Cinnamon Snail serves up flavorful vegan and organic dishes for any time of the day. Whether you’re craving pancakes, burgers or their fresh pastries, make sure to check their daily schedule to see if they are in your area.

The Chipper Truck has a culture of its own, combining American and Irish cuisine. The truck can be found on Katonah Avenue in the Bronx under the watchful eye of owners Valine and Alice Bermejo.

King Souvlaki, also a family-owned truck, serves up Greek dishes. They received the title of “King” from their own customers.

Last but certainly not least, with their chef’s hailing from Maine is Luke’s Lobster, look out for their famous lobster rolls.

The cook-off takes place at Industry City in Sunset Park. The finalists have been chosen by everyday customers and the winner for the Vendy Cup will be chosen by six celebrity judges and one citizen judge. Attendees will vote for the People’s Taste Award. The Vendys will be emceed by Negin Farsad and DJ Justin Carter will provide the tunes.
