76th Precinct Community Council Meeting

The next 76th Precinct Community Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 7:30 PM.

Please note that this meeting will be held at the Miccio Center, located at 110 West 9th Street, between Clinton Street and Henry Street (on the Red Hook side of Hamilton Avenue).

 

Carroll Park Incidents

On Monday, September 16, 2013, at approximately 3:30 PM, a group of teenagers were engaged in a fight that spilled into Carroll Park.  Later on that same evening, at approximately 7:50 PM, several gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Carroll Park.  No one was injured and no property damage was reported.  Although it has not been confirmed that the two incidents are connected, every possibility is being looked into.  Both incidents are being aggressively investigated.  Please be assured that extra Uniformed Patrol and Plain Clothes Patrol has been added to Carroll Park and the vicinity in the attempt to prevent any additional incidents from occurring.  Anyone with information regarding either incident should call the 76th Precinct Detective Unit at (718) 834-3221.

 

Attention Apple Users

The NYPD’s Crime Prevention Section has created the attached flyer regarding an Apple Download that can help combat the theft of Apple devices.  By downloading the new operating system, should your device be lost or stolen, it cannot be reprogrammed without an Apple ID and Password.  Please see the attached flyer for additional information.

 

Tunnel to Towers Run

On Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 9:30 AM, the annual “Tunnel to Towers” Memorial Run, in honor of Firefighter Stephen Siller, will take place.  Please be advised that the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (Brooklyn Battery Tunnel) and several local streets in the vicinity of the tunnel will experience temporary closures between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM.  Traffic and pedestrian access will be restricted, however all residents in the affected area will have access in and out of their homes.  Please plan accordingly.
