On September 18, the Visitation Academy Mothers’ Club held its annual Get Acquainted Dinner at Mama Rao’s in Brooklyn. The dinner was held to welcome all new mothers to the Visitation Academy family.

The gala event was filled with tradition. Past presidents of the Mothers’ Club returned to perform the traditional pouring of the tea from antique teapots to welcome the new and returning mothers. Many lovely prizes, from designer pocketbooks to one-of-a-kind bookends, were raffled off.

The evening left everyone feeling like family and ready for the new school year. The next event for the Visitation Academy Mothers’ Club will be Ladies’ Night Out on November 14. All are welcome to attend.

Many of the students who attended the fair also volunteered their time to sell tickets for a 50/50 raffle that raised money to support St. Saviour High School. The moderator of the St. Saviour High School Gaelic Society is Eileen Cush, who is also a science teacher at the school.
