Muffin’s Pet Connection: Sandy survivors need a home

HEY JUDE: Since we are survivors of super storm SANDY, I do not have place to live with my long-haired male Chihuahua. FEMA placed us in Hotels in New York. After finishing the Hotels program, my friend let us stay temporary in her house.

“WOOF WOOF: Montey is six pounds, he likes WOMEN ONLY, is a one-person-dog exclusively, and is nervous around small children. He was two years old on September 29, 2013. Montey has received all required shots, including Rabies. Adoption fee required. Please call if you would like to meet Montey: 347-525-6978. Thank you.” — Lioudmila Moukhina.

RUFF RUFF: Jordin, a five-year-old, 60 pound Black Rottweiler and Doberman Pincher mix, needs a new home. Unfortunately she has outgrown the space we have for her.

“Our work schedules do not provide us with enough time to give Jordin the attention that she needs. She is loyal and can be territorial. She loves walks, and active play times. When she knows you, she is calm, walks around and plays with her toys.

“When meeting new people, she is hyper. All she wants to do is jump on the new person and smell their feet. She has a loud bark but little bite. But other dogs and especially cats get her a little hyper and anxious. She understands, sit, lay down and give me a five. She is easily trained. Please call Dionisia at 718-213-9331. Thank you!

In Loving Memory of ALICE, who was rescued as a kitten along with her mother Katie and brother Jeffrey in 2003. Zany Alice loved to bunny-kick her big stuffed rat toy. She also loved to watch the street sweeper, running to the window every time it passed, ears flat, body low to the sill in stalking pose, following it with dark eyes as it swish-swish down the block. Alice has given us 10 years of laughs, love & kisses. She will be missed. — Joanie Locicero & family
