$40K post-Sandy grant awarded to Reaching-Out Community Services

Bensonhurst-based Reaching-Out Community Services (ROCS) has been awarded $40,000 from the American Red Cross to provide bulk food services and assistance with registering for food stamps to 1,800 Sandy-affected families.

“Nearly 16 months after Sandy, many families are still struggling to meet even their most basic needs,” explained Josh Lockwood, CEO of the Red Cross Greater New York Region.

Thomas Neve, executive director of ROCS, thanked the Red Cross for helping to address an ongoing need “among Brooklyn residents who have been challenged by Sandy and are still recovering from their loss.”
