Police Beat: Woman wanted in attempted Bensonhurst bank robbery

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted bank robbery which occurred within the confines of the 62nd Precinct.

On Saturday, August 16 around 10:44 a.m. inside a Chase Bank located at 19th Avenue and 86th Street, the suspect allegedly entered the location, approached a teller, and verbally demanded money.

The suspect then allegedly slipped a note stating, “Fill envelope with 100’s or I will shoot. You have 60 seconds.” The teller refused the perp, and she fled the bank in an unknown direction. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a black woman, 50 to 60 years of age, approximately 5’9 tall, and weighing 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple t-shirt, blue New York Yankees baseball cap and dark colored pants.
