The lobster has landed!
Luke’s Lobster finally opened the doors to its Park Slope location at 237 Fifth Avenue on Friday, September 26, and as fans expected, the wait was worth it.
Fresh lobster, shrimp and crab rolls served in split-top buns with a bit of lemon, butter and seasonings are joined by Brooklyn classics such as Four and Twenty Blackbirds’ Maine Blueberry pie and locally brewed Grimm Artisanal Ales.
“Having local partnerships is very important everywhere, but in Park Slope more so,” explained Vice President Ben Conniff. “We really want for this to be a neighborhood spot. I’ve lived here for seven years now and people are drawn to places that specifically cater to neighbors.”
The Fifth Avenue restaurant is Luke’s Lobster’s 14thlocation – and first brick-and-mortar Brooklyn shop, its shack in Brooklyn Bridge Park notwithstanding – and comes complete with an airy backyard where grilled lobster parties will be held in warmer weather.
According to Co-Founder and President Luke Holden, they chose Park Slope for its sense of community. “It’s fun to be able to celebrate our community and team” with this grand opening, he said. “It’s like a complicated puzzle that came together because everyone is so organized.”
The Brooklyn location also stands out as the first Luke’s with craft beers on tap, and will eventually offer nightly deliveries and serve as a weekly pickup site for Village Fishmonger, a community-supported fishery program bringing sustainable seafood to the neighborhood.
