Muffin’s Pet Connection: Area pet adoption events

DOGS-DOGS-DOGS…If you are looking for a dog who is perfectly trained, please take a look at Gracie. She is an obedience school graduate who knows her commands perfectly and is extra well mannered. She is quiet and calm, crate trained, but does not really need a crate, does not eat her food until you say so, and walks nicely on a leash.

Gracie, a Pit Mix, is good with other dogs and lives with a male Pit bull who she loves to play with, but would be best in a home without cats as she does have a prey drive. Gracie is around three to four years old, out of her puppy crazies and would be a great addition to your home! She is currently awaiting her forever family in Freeport, LI. If you are interested, please email sabrinapaige@gmail.com.

Please fill out an application http://zanisfurryfriends.org/applications.html and return via email to: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org.  Many cats/dogs will be at Petco on Lexington Avenue (bet 86th and 87th) on Sundays–please ask which dogs will be there ahead of time by writing dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org.

If you are seriously interested in adopting a specific pooch, please fill out an application by Friday so that they can be sure that the dog is there. Please come, think about providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy.

Dogs are pack animals, and enjoy, as well as need, other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to humans. The upside to this is that you will not feel guilty leaving them alone, and you get twice the love. Please visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NY606.html.

HEY JUDE: WOOF WOOF…”I need help! Roxi is a spayed, gentle and loving dog who is great with young children and babies. She is non-aggressive, but is protective of the house and has a nice bark. We love Roxi and have had her since she was six weeks old when we rescued her.

“Since we have had her, our family has grown, (as has Roxi) and we now have two small children. Family illness has put stress on us and put demands on our time away from home. Our home is too small and we have not had the time to care for her in the way that she needs and deserves.

“She currently gets little attention from us and she needs better than what can give or have been able to provide for some time now. This is a heart-wrenching decision that has been mulled over for a few years now, but she needs better and we would be a bit particular over who we pass her on to. Please e-mail  j.adam.barnett@gmail.com.”
