Planet Wings cuts ribbon on first Brooklyn locale

Bay Ridge’s busy 86th Street strip officially made room for 24 new flavors of chicken wings as Planet Wings, at home at 8612 Fifth Avenue since the end of the summer, celebrated its grand opening on Friday, September 19.

“We’re happy to be here,” said Owner Vinny Martella, joined by his brother, Co-Owner James Martella, as they cut the ribbon on Planet Wings’ first-ever Brooklyn locale. With four locations in Staten Island, and hundreds more nationwide, Martella believes Brooklyn may be one of the eatery’s best bets.

“We do everything from wings to sandwiches to salads and burgers,” said Martella, stressing that franchising opportunities are now also available. “We’re looking to get the ball running here in Brooklyn.”

The team at Fifth Avenue’s own Planet Wings was awarded a proclamation by Liam McCabe on behalf of Congressmember Michael Grimm and was personally congratulated by Jordyn Buglione, director of member services for the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Planet Wings of Bay Ridge is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information or a full menu of specialties, visit www.planetwings.com.
