Cops in Bensonhurst make large drug bust

Cops in Bensonhurst took down an alleged drug dealer on the morning of Thursday, December 11, arresting him after a search warrant revealed a large stash of illegal drugs in his Bay Parkway home.

Among the items seized as a result of the search were 291 Oxycodone pills, .06 ounces of Molly, 64 Clonazepam pills, and 14 ounces of an as-yet-unknown white powder, along with a pill press, over $3,000 in cash, seven motorcycles, numerous motorcycle spare parts, a gravity knife and two airguns.

Police say the arrest of Ahmad Mohammed, whom they describe as “a 24-year-old robbery recidivist,” arose out of the arrest by the 62nd Precinct Anti-Crime Team, on Saturday, November 29, at just after midnight, of 23-year-old Dmitry Kravchenko, who the NYPD reports was observed by the officers buying pills from a man near Bay Parkway and Bath Avenue.

Cops arrested Kravchenko, who they say was found to be in possession of Oxycodone pills, as wells as Ambien, Xanax, and Lorazepam. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell.

Kravchenko was one of three individuals arrested that day after purchasing drugs from Mohammed, say cops, who report that Mohammed was also observed selling Oxycodone pills to Michael Morreale, a 26-year-old male, who was arrested by officers in the vicinity of Bay 29th Street and Bath Avenue where they found him to be in possession of illegal Oxycodone pills, and David Bobenchik, a 33-year-old male, who was arrested near 21st and Cropsey Avenues and was found in possession of Oxycodone. Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Subsequently, according to the NYPD, the officers got the search warrant for Mohammed’s residence. With assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, the team executed the warrant on Thursday, December 11 at 6:15 a.m. and arrested Mohammed. A search of his home revealed the cache of illegal drugs and other items.

Cops say that, with respect to the motorcycles, it was determined that the VIN numbers had been defaced and that Mohammed was replacing parts of motorcycles that had the VIN numbers etched into them with parts missing the VIN number.

Mohammed, who cops say has an arrest record dating back to 2007 for Robbery and Drug Possession, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance as well as Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to sell, Altering a Vehicle Identification Number, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
