Just one month after local residents flooded social media with rumors that Ridge’s longstanding Bridgeview Diner would soon shutter, sources close to the eatery told this paper that, while it has officially changed hands, it will continue to operate as the Bridgeview.
Owner Gus Panteleakis – a Ridge resident for more than 50 years – is finally ready to pass the torch and, according to his son, a longtime friend of the family, who also happens to be the property’s owner, is ready to take the reins of the decades-old diner.
Experienced restaurateur Dimitrios Kaloidis, owner of multiple eateries in Brooklyn and beyond, has purchased the business and will be taking full control of the Bridgeview in the coming weeks, a move the Ridge resident has been trying to make for years, according to Panteleakis’ son.
Bridgeview Diner – located at 9011 Third Avenue – is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
