Police Beat: 68th Precinct blotter

Between Thursday, January 29 and Sunday, February 1, the 68th Precinct received reports of three grand larcenies and one burglary. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

TIRE THIEF

On Saturday, January 31 around 9 p.m. a man parked his car in front of his home near Third Avenue and 89th Street. Cops say that when he returned he found that an unknown perp had removed all four of his rims and all four of his tires.

The next morning, a woman parked her car near 14th Avenue and 86th Street around 9:30 a.m. According to cops, when she returned she found that an unknown perp had removed two of her rims and tires from her 2015 Hyundai.

BAR BANDIT

A woman hung her purse on a hook at a bar located near 95th Street and Third Avenue on Saturday, January 31 around 12:05 a.m. When she went to grab her purse, cops say that she noticed that an unknown perp had removed it from the hook, along with her property inside.

HEFTY HOIST

According to cops, a resident left his home around 11:10 a.m. on Friday, January 29 and, when he returned around 1 p.m. he discovered that the rear door had been broken down and property had been removed from the residence.

According to cops, the unknown perp made off with $3,000, one pair of diamond stud earrings, one gold necklace and an HSBC checkbook.
