Parkway Express debuts in place of Frank and Eddie’s

Nearly nine months to the day since the decades-old family business of Frank and Eddie’s at 7502 Third Avenue shuttered, Parkway Express Deli and Grill, has opened in its place.

Parkway – advertising itself as “your friendly neighborhood deli and grocery” – celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, April 23 at the corner of Bay Ridge Parkway and Third, just a stone’s throw away from Ice Deli and Grill, 7404 Third Avenue, with which, according to the deli’s menu, it is “associated.”

Frank and Eddie’s, a Bay Ridge staple since 1963, closed its doors on July 28, 2014, and was famous for its fresh meats but also known for its cold cuts, salads, fresh bread and mozzarella, at one time even delivered door to door.

While Frank and Eddie’s sister shop at 302 86th Street remains open, Parkway Express hopes to impress passersby with a large selection of deli meats, cold salads and diner-style breakfast.
