Police seek man in connection with attempted bank robbery

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man who attempted to rob a bank on Tuesday, May 19.

At around 11:50 a.m. police say the man, approximately 5’3” with a stocky build, entered the bank located at 5323 Fifth Avenue and passed a note to the teller demanding cash.

The man then fled the location empty –handed and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with the letter “B” on it, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and had a backpack with him.

Anyone with information in regard to the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
