Bay Ridge Boy Scouts to honor business leaders and Eagle Scouts during annual breakfast

Scout’s honor.

Lori Pedone, senior sales executive for the Home Reporter and The Brooklyn Spectator, will be one of three individuals honored during the Bay Ridge Breakfast for Scouting on Wednesday, June 10, along with Vice President and Branch Manager of the Northfield Bank in Bay Ridge Brian Chin, and Co-Founder and Principal of Pan Brothers Associates, George Pantelidis, for their contribution to the Boy Scouts and community service.

The event, hosted by the Boy Scouts of America and the Brooklyn Council and held at the Bay Ridge Manor, 476 76th Street, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (with breakfast served at 10 a.m.), will also recognize select Eagle Scouts from Bay Ridge, as well as serve as a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts.

Pedone, who is a board member of the Boy Scouts of America, has helped the organization with raising money through expanding its contacts. She is thrilled with the honor.

“I was blown away. Flattered isn’t even the word,” she said. “You do things because you feel you can help, not because you expect anything. That day when I have to accept award, I won’t know what to say.”

Pedone also has fond memories of the Boy Scouts, as her son was a member as a child. “I had an opportunity to go on a couple of the trips, be part of it and see when they do for the kids,” Pedone said. “For me, there was always a soft place in my heart for the Boy Scouts of America. The foundation it gave my son was wonderful.”

The Bay Ridge Breakfast Committee includes Basil Capetanakis, James Clark, Mary Kae Higgins, James McHugh and Dino Lamia.

“I am looking forward to it and I’m excited,” Pedone added. “I plan events, so it’s nice for me to be on the other end of this. It’s also great helping the organization to raise money. To able to help in some way, I’m thrilled to do it.”
