Suspicious package found near Ridge elementary school

Following the discovery of a suspicious package on 71^st Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues on Friday morning, June 12, cops and firefighters were on the scene, said cops.

According to one local resident, investigators seemed “calm” and classes at P.S. 170, the K-5 elementary school across the street, remained in session.

The scene was deemed safe around 2:45 p.m.
