Four slashed during fight at Bay Ridge bar

Updated on Tuesday, June 30 to include comment from 68 Precinct Captain Raymond Festino

A quadruple stabbing at a Bay Ridge watering hole in the early hours of Sunday, June 28 has left four men, ages 26 to 45, to recover at Lutheran Medical Center, according to cops.

The four victims were stabbed when a man — said to have gotten away — pulled a knife inside The Hideout Bar, 8415 Fifth Avenue, after an argument erupted just before 1 a.m.

One man was stabbed in the torso and armpit, two men in the back and the fourth in the leg.

All victims are expected to survive.

An e-mail from the 68th Precinct Community Council urged that it “wants to community to rest assured that there is nothing to be concerned of, as again, these stabbings were the result of the fight.”

68th Precinct Captain Raymond Festino and members of the precinct were on the scene throughout the evening.

“We have a person of very much interest,” Festino told this paper on Tuesday, June 30. “The investigation is still ongoing. The incident was very specific to that location [as it was] a dispute that went on within the location.”

Furthermore, Festino said, The Hideout has been hit with multiple violations.

Still, he went on, “the bar is cooperating with us and we are very hopeful for an arrest within the next few days.”

Bar employees declined to comment as the investigation is still ongoing.
