Suspect sought in string of hospital thefts

Cops are looking to locate and identify the man they say has robbed three hospitals – including Sunset Park’s Lutheran Medical Center – since the beginning of the year.

According to police, the suspect – described as a black man weighing anywhere from 200 to 300 pounds – first struck Saint Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan on Monday, January 26, swiping a 61-year-old man’s credit and debit cards from his office.

On Friday, April 24, the same suspect entered Mount Sinai Hospital at around noon and swiped a 35-year-old man’s credit card and gold ring from inside his hospital room.

He then, at around 2 p.m. on Friday, May 1, broke into Lutheran Medical Center, located at 150 55th Street, and swiped an electronic tablet from a 78-year-old man’s hospital room.
