62nd Precinct Police Beat: woman stabs fiance, man attacked near Bay Parkway

62nd Precinct

Between Friday, September 11 and Monday September 13, the 62nd Precinct received reports of two felony assaults, two grand larcenies and one robbery. The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend.

ROUGH MORNING

A 22-year-old woman stabbed her fiancé, 29, in the shoulder during an argument at an apartment near Bay Ridge Parkway and 17th Avenue on Sunday, September 13 at around 5 a.m. According to cops, the man was able to get himself to the VA Hospital after the knife assault.

SEEING RED

A 21-year-old man was walking near Bay Parkway and 72nd Street on Friday, September 11 at around 3 p.m. when an unknown perp approached him and struck him with a red, metal bat. The man was removed to Lutheran Medical Center and told cops that he would be able to identify the perp if he saw him.

PHONY PHONECALL

At around noon on Friday, September 11, an 84-year-old man told police that he had received a phone call informing him that his son had been arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The unknown perp on the phone told the man that there was damage done to a vehicle as a result of the accident and that he needed to pay. The man wired $2,472 via moneygram to the perp. According to cops, after the money was transferred, the man called his grandson and learned that his son had never been arrested.

DISAPPEARING DOLLARS

A 26-year-old woman had $1,000 in cash and credit/debit cards stolen from her car parked near Bay and Shore Parkways on Friday, September 11. The woman told police that her car had been left unlocked and after she returned to the vehicle, having stepped away for a short time, she found the items gone.

DETOUR

A 47-year-old man Pakistani man told police that on Sunday, September 13, as he was walking near 66th Street and 17th Avenue, two male perps—approximately 30 years old—sitting in a black BMW, called him over to ask for directions. After the man gave directions, the pair pulled out a firearm and demanded the man empty his pockets. The perps made off with $3,200 and the man’s Pakistani passport.
