The Norwegian Christian Home and Health Care Center hosted its annual Fall Fair on Saturday, September 19, raising money and some spirits for the Dyker Heights institution.
“It was fantastic,” said NCH Executive Board Member Arlene Rutuelo of the festivities. “We had a great day, the weather was great and there were hundreds of people on campus.”
The day featured traditional Norwegian eats including waffles, lapskaus and pea soup along with raffle drawings, a large flea market, an estate sale, vendors, face painting, games, gifts and deli food items for sale.
“We did really well with raffles and it was an overall success,” added Rutuelo. “It’s not just about raising money for the Norwegian Christian Home, it’s also about raising awareness and we were introduced to new people in the community and that makes it a raging success in my eyes.”
