Bay Ridge has gone to the stars–again.

The nabe has once again been chosen as the backdrop for an upcoming TV project–this time, HBO’s new drama series, “The Deuce” starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

“We’re seeing a lot more filming in Bay Ridge, which is exciting,” said District Manager of Community Board 10 Josephine Beckmann. “We do have parking concerns of course. [It’s] a little different on Fourth Avenue with the school concerns, but certainly we welcome it. We do reach out to production managers often and are able to work out problems day-to-day; whether it’s a blocked driveway or [anything else]. We’ve had a good relationship.”

According to reports, filming will take place on at least five blocks in the neighborhood– Fourth Avenue from 72nd Street to Bay Ridge Avenue and Third Avenue from 72nd Street to Ovington Avenue.

The show will follow the rise of the porn industry in Midtown Manhattan from the early 1970s through the mid-’80s, according to deadline.com. Franco will play two roles–twin brothers who became became mob fronts in Times Square’s lucrative sex industry, while Gyllenhaal will play the role of a prostitute.
