On Sunday, October 25, Councilmember Vincent Gentile along with the Waterfront Alliance hosted Pumpkin Fest from 12-4 p.m. at the American Veterans Memorial Pier at the foot of 69th Street in Bay Ridge.

The family-friendly event was full of fun, Halloween-inspired things for kids to do. There was even a costume parade and contest.

Gentile describes the event as “electric, spooky, and everything you would want a Pumpkin Fest to be.” He mentioned that hundreds of people turned out for the event, noting, “The kids were fascinated by the band playing guitars and ukuleles.”

In addition, there were games, pumpkin decorating, prizes and goodies. And everyone was a winner in the costume contest. Gentile notes that all entrants received certificates to commemorate their participation.

Both children and their parents joined in the fun of dressing in costume. “Whether young or older everyone had a good time,” Gentile recalled.
