Brooklyn Market treats Bay Ridge to free Thanksgiving meal

In the spirit of giving back, Bay Ridge’s own Brooklyn Market thanked its loyal patrons, and the Bay Ridge community, by celebrating Thanksgiving a little early.

On Friday, November 20, the team at Brooklyn Market treated Ridgeites to a free hot meal – complete with Thanksgiving turkey, and all the fixings – from noon to 4 p.m. outside its Third Avenue shop.

“On behalf of the Brooklyn Market, we would like to thank the community for all your support,” said Brooklyn Market manager Victor Santos, who runs the supermarket alongside Nasri Abed. “We’ve been here about a year and a couple of months, and we just want to do everything that we can to give back to the community. We’re here for you, and we support you.”

Monsignor Jack Maloney of Saint Anselm Church was on hand to bless the offerings.

“I am happy to be with you this afternoon as we share in the tradition of Thanksgiving,” he said, before calling for a moment of silence, and a moment of great thanks.

Brooklyn Market is located at 8102 Third Avenue.
