Underage drunk driver sends two cops to hospital

A drunk driver sent two cops to the hospital early Sunday morning after he collided with a police car and three other parked cars near 84th Street and 24th Avenue in Bensonhurst, said officials.

Zarshed Davronov, 20, of Bensonhurst, was arrested and charged with DWAI (Driving While Ability Impaired), reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic device and operating a motor vehicle while consuming alcohol under 21, according to police.

The 20-year-old was said to have been traveling westbound on 84th Street at around 4:40 a.m. on December 27, when he ran a steady red light and hit a marked NYPD car on routine patrol. Davronov’s Honda Odyssey then proceeded to hit a Chevy Trailblazer and two other parked cars.

Davronov sustained minor injuries and the two officers were treated for face, neck and knee pain. All were taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center.
