A Gravesend man has been convicted of murder and attempted murder following a fatal 2013 shooting that rocked his own apartment building, announced District Attorney Ken Thompson on Wednesday, December 9.
According to Thompson, 33-year-old Tremaine Holmes of Avenue V was convicted on Tuesday, December 8 for striking and killing fellow resident and alleged rival Taleeb Maxime on August 15, 2013 inside the residence, and then firing multiple shots outside. The outside bullets struck a second victim, Darryl Brown, who survived.
“This defendant chose to settle a score with a gun and senselessly took a life,” said Thompson. “He will now have many years to spend in a prison cell and think about the foolishness of his choice.”
Holmes faces a maximum sentence of 40 years.
