Paesano on 13th celebrates grand opening with ribbon cutting

It’s lucky number 13 for a new Italian eatery in Dyker Heights.

On Wednesday, November 4, staff, friends and family celebrated the opening of their new establishment, Paesano on 13th, 8303 13th Avenue, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Co-owner of Paesano’s, Maria Martinelli described the celebration as a highlight of her career. It was beautiful moment and I felt very proud,” she said. “It was great to have all the staff and families to share the moment.”

Although it’s early, the restaurant — which features a wide variety of selections — has been embraced by the area. “So far, we’ve felt so much support from the community,” Martinelli said. “The neighborhood has loved our stuff. The reviews have been wonderful and we’re pleased to already feel that supported.”

Regular customers already have favorite dishes. “I think they love the large Panini selection, cold cuts and the hot roast beef sandwiches,” Martinelli said. “Everyone is welcome to try our food.”

Martinelli and co-owner Anthony De Santo look forward to continue their passion project. “It’s been a dream come true for me,” Martinelli said. “I always wanted to be in the food industry. It’s early and a lot of work but it’s been amazing and very rewarding.”
