Grand Army Plaza was alive with the sound of fireworks yet again this New Year’s Eve.
For the 36th year in a row, the annual fireworks celebration at Grand Army Plaza brought with it some festive fun and live entertainment.
“New Year’s Eve fireworks at Grand Army Plaza are truly a borough-wide celebration, and so it is fitting to host in Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s backyard,” said Sue Donoghue, president of the Prospect Park Alliance. “We welcome thousands of revelers each year to come to the park to enjoy the gorgeous display, which would not be possible without the support of Borough President Adams, and we thank him.”
The event began at around 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The prime locations for viewing the fireworks included Grand Army Plaza, the Park’s West Drive, and along Prospect Park West between Grand Army Plaza and Ninth Street. The evening also featured live music provided by DJ C. featuring the Brooklyn Mash It Up Band with attendees treated to some hot chocolate throughout the night as well.
