68th Precinct Police Beat: Perp pepper sprays woman for her purse

Between Thursday, February 25 and Saturday, February 27, the 68th Precinct received reports of one robbery and four grand larcenies. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

COWARD PEPPER SPRAYS WOMAN

Cops say a 41-year-old white woman was robbed by an unknown perp on Thursday, February 25 at approximately 9 p.m., while she was walking near Colonial Road and 92nd Street. There, the perp ambushed her, sprayed her face with pepper spray and pushed her into a car before stealing her purse and wallet, worth approximately $105, before fleeing the scene. The victim was brought to NYU Lutheran Medical Center.

A GOOD SHAVE

According to police, a pharmacy at 71st Street and Third Avenue has been hit up for approximately $1,604 worth of merchandise. On Thursday, February 25 at approximately 8:50 a.m., surveillance cameras recorded a white man stuffing the loot into his jacket during the heist, including several razor blade cartridges.

LOCK YOUR DOORS

Between Friday, February 26 at approximately 9:45 p.m. and Saturday, February 27 at approximately 1 a.m., a purse, containing a wallet with cash and credit cards, in total worth $975, was taken from a car parked at 13th Avenue and 66th Street. The victim, a 28-year-old Hispanic woman, had left the car unlocked.

WHEELS COMING OFF

An unknown perp stole the wheels and rims off a 56-year-old woman’s Honda while it was parked on the northeast corner of Ridge Boulevard and 94th Street. On Thursday, February 25, at approximately 4 p.m., the victim returned to find that the two rims and two tires, worth approximately $1,300, were missing.

TOOL TIME

Police say that over $1,000 of stuff, including Acura tools, was filched from a car parked near Fourth Avenue and 100th Street, sometime between Thursday, February 25 at approximately 7 p.m. and approximately 7 a.m. on Friday, February 26 , when the car’s owner, a 34-year-old white man, returned to his vehicle.
