Disturbed Bensonhurst man taken into custody after second incident

For the second time in four months, the NYPD has responded to the Bensonhurst apartment of an emotionally disturbed man at 84th Street and Bay Parkway.

At around 8:45 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, March 30, officers from the 62nd Precinct responded after receiving a report of an emotionally disturbed person with a knife, 62nd Precinct Commanding Officer Captain Anthony Sanseverino told this paper. The man, he noted, was a repeat offender who, last November, climbed onto a window ledge, causing specialized units to mass outside of his building at 8484 Bay Parkway.

“The concern was that he could be a danger to himself,” Sanseverino said.

According to the captain, the man was throwing things out of his window and, every so often, defecated onto the street.

The man was taken into custody and brought to Coney Island Hospital with no injuries.
