Time to get a Taste of the Ridge

Put on your Sunday best, but don’t forget your bib.

Once again, some of Bay Ridge’s finest eateries will be bringing their culinary bravado to St. Patrick Catholic Academy (Fourth Avenue and 97th Street) for an all-you-can-try afternoon of food, drink and fun.

This year, the event will take place on Sunday, April 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Aldo Bruschi  Auditorium and will feature an array of different Ridge favorites.

This year’s participants include: Aero, Arirang, Campania, Cappuccino Café, Cathy’s Place, Chadwick’s, Gino’s, Grenhhouse Café, Ho’Brah, Istanbul Kitchen, Las Margaritas, Leo’s Casa Calamari, Mike’s Deli, Molte Bene, Nature’s Grill, Offshore Restaurant, Paneantico, Ponte Vecchio, Positano, Salty Dog, Sancho, Sapporo, Sofia’s, Shangri-La, Skinflints, The Kettle Black, The Lockyard, The Wicked Monk, Vesuvio, Xin and many more.

Now in its 20th year, the event was the brainchild of Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, then a parish priest at St. Patrick’s and a trained chef, and chef Donald Penza, who went to school at St. Patrick’s, and it has grown since its inception, adding new participants each year to the roster of tried-and true favorites.

Additionally, this year’s event will be judged, with a plaque awarded to the winning restaurant. The event will also feature beer and wine tastings and a 50/50 raffle.

Admission is $25 at the door and $20 in advance. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.stpatrickbayridge.org/The-Taste-of-the-Ridge.
