68th Precinct Police Beat: Woman robbed at gunpoint on Ridge Boulevard

Between Sunday, May 15 and Saturday, May 21, the 68th Precinct received reports of two grand larcenies and two robberies. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

TWO PERPS ROB AT GUNPOINT

A 52-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking home on the northwest corner of Wakeman Place and Ridge Boulevard on Saturday, May 21 at around 1:45 a.m. Two white men approached her, and one of them pointed a handgun at her, while the other crook pushed her to the ground and stole her Michael Kors bag, which contained around $7,000, cell phone, wallet and credit cards.

The perps then fled on foot eastbound towards Third Avenue.

MYSTERY CROOK

A 31-year-old man was robbed of his wallet while inside an apartment complex at Eighth Avenue and 70th Street.

On Sunday, May 15 at around 11:40 p.m., the man was standing at the front door of his home and reaching for his keys to enter when an unknown crook came from behind him, pinned him against the door and stole his wallet, which contained several credit cards and $10, from his rear pocket. The perp then fled eastbound on 70th Street towards Fort Hamilton Parkway.

Although the victim couldn’t provide a description of the robber, he told cops that a man had approached at a store near 71st Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway an hour before the robbery, offering him marijuana. The victim suspects he may have been the perp.

STRIPPED CAR

A 2011 Mitsubishi  parked at 10th Avenue and 62nd Street was stripped by an unknown perp sometime between Wednesday, May 18 at around 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 19 at around 9 a.m. When the victim, a 50-year-old man, returned to his vehicle, he discovered that the driver’s side of window had been smashed and both front row seats and the steering wheel had been stolen.

The damages are estimated at approximately $8,500.

BUSTED

Cops arrested a 21-year-old woman on grand larceny charges at a night club at 100th Street and Fourth Avenue on Saturday, May 21 at around 2:40 a.m., after she allegedly stole a 19-year-old woman’s Coach bag, which contained money and credit cards, worth approximately $160. Cops say the victim said she had seen the suspect with her purse.
