Cops seek suspect for alleged kidnap attempt in Bensonhurst

Cops are looking for a woman who attempted to walk away with someone else’s child over the weekend in Bensonhurst.

According to police, just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, an unidentified woman approached a two-year-old girl who was outside playing near the vicinity of 16th Avenue and 84th Street, took her by the hand and began to walk away with her.

The child’s mother, who was also outside and saw the interaction, then approached the stranger and took her child back.

Afterwards, the unknown woman – described by cops as an Asian woman with black hair – walked away as if nothing had happened. She was last seen wearing a red and white plaid shirt and carrying a black bag.

There were no reported injuries
