For the first time ever, Kids Day America — a nationwide celebration of kids’ health, safety and environmental issues — was celebrated in Bay Ridge, thanks to Dr. Carey Skorski and his team.
The family-friendly event — hosted with help from local non-profit Bay Ridge Cares — took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shore Road Park, 79th Street and Shore Road, on Saturday, May 14. Attendees enjoyed complimentary face-painting, balloon animals and rides as well as free chiropractic consultations and live martial arts demonstrations courtesy of Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts.
“This is something that takes place across the country,” Skorski said of the event, first founded by Doctors Theresa and Stuart Warner of the World Children’s Wellness Foundation, a nonprofit organization promoting health care through a chiropractic lifestyle. “We really wanted to bring it to Bay Ridge.”
