68th Precinct Police Beat: Perp strikes man with a pipe during road rage

Between Tuesday, June 7 and Sunday, June 12, the 68th Precinct received reports of three grand larcenies, one burglary and one assault. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

QUARTERBACK

A burglar got away with a whole lot of change. Sometime between Saturday, June 11 at around 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 12 at approximately 7 a.m., the crook broke into the side window of a laundromat at 95th Street and Third Avenue and stole around $800 in quarters before fleeing the scene. A 38-year-old woman discovered the missing change during the morning .

PIPE NIGHTMARE

A 57-year-old man was crossing the street at 76th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway on Friday, June 10 at around 3:45 p.m. when a 30-year-old Asian man driving his vehicle turned close to him. After the pedestrian engaged in a dispute with the driver, the driver hit him in the face with a pipe. The victim received injuries; however, he refused medical attention.

No arrests have been made.

MAN LEAVES, AND OUT COME THIEVES

A 63-year -old male discovered that his 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago had been stolen from in front of 411 100th Street, where it had been parked, around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, June 10. Police canvassed the area without success. The value of the vehicle was estimated at around $300,000.

VAN-ISHED

A 34-year old male reported to police that his vehicle, a white Ford Econoline, worth approximately $6,500, had been stolen from its parking spot opposite 731 66th Street around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7. The victim had stepped away from his parked car and when he returned, it was gone.

KEYS BUT NO CAR

A 37-year old female told police that she discovered her vehicle, a white, 2003 super duty Ford van, had been stolen from in front of 6323 Seventh Avenue at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Cops canvassed a 15-block radius but did not find the car. The victim is in possession of both sets of keys to the vehicle.
