Eighty-Sixth Street was alive with the sound of fun as the bustling Bensonhurst strip celebrated another successful festival on Sunday, June 12.
The outdoor soiree and shopping extravaganza, put on by the SWB Task Force and 62nd Precinct Community Council, stretched from 19th Avenue to Bay Parkway and featured all-day activities including food, games, rides and music.
The event was also dubbed a “shopper’s paradise” because of the strip’s participating street vendors, wholesalers and in-store sales.
“It was very successful,” said festival organizer Chip Cafiero. “We had a good turnout, vendors did very well, the crowd was pleased, the weather was perfect – you really couldn’t ask for much more. It was a perfect event.”
