NYU Lutheran expands with purchase of space within Sunset Park warehouse

One major Brooklyn hospital is growing.

NYU Lutheran Medical Center, a Sunset Park hospital that was acquired by NYU Langone on the first of this year after a brief partnership, has paid more than $12 million in an off-market deal for 32,000 square feet at a nearby warehouse, according to Crain’s New York.

The site – 5718 Second Avenue – is just down the street from the hospital, as well as Lutheran’s Sunset Park Family Health Center.

When asked for confirmation, a spokesperson for the hospital told this paper, “The new building is part of NYU Langone’s master planning efforts to relocate, modernize, and grow ambulatory services and programs affiliated with NYU Lutheran. We are excited to expand our patient care services to the Sunset Park community and the broader Brooklyn population.”

NYU Lutheran is located at 150 55th Street.
