This summer’s Concerts in the Park series announced

Get your lawn chairs ready and grab your blankets for the summer of 2016 Concerts in the Park, hosted by State Senator Marty Golden.

The concert series will kick off on Tuesday, July 5, with Head over Heels performing in Shore Road Park at 79th Street, with free live music and performances in different parks in Brooklyn throughout the summer.

“I guarantee you will enjoy the music and the bands will get you dancing during the summer nights,” said Golden.

Fourteen different bands will be a part of the concert series, with bands like Radio Daze, Sha Doobie, NY Exceptions and the Brooklyn Keys. The Canny Brothers will perform during Irish Night, August 23, also in Shore Road Park at 79th Street.

Frankie Marra, who will be playing with his band, the Frankie Marra band, on July 26 in Shore Road Park, is excited to be a part of the concert series again.

“It’s always nice to play for the people of Bay Ridge and be a part of Senator Marty Golden’s concert series,” said Marra.

Marra, who has been playing with his band at the concert series for 10 years, is dedicating his performance to military veterans during Military Veterans Night to raise awareness for next year’s 125th annual Memorial Day parade.

“I’m always honored to play for military veterans and their families,” said Marra.
