68th Precinct Police Beat: Creeps carjack Jeep in Ridge

DIAMOND SNATCH
Cops are looking for a suspect who stole $12,000 and an $8,000 Tiffany diamond ring from an apartment at 67th Street and Eighth Avenue on Tuesday, June 28. The thief entered a locked room around 9:00 a.m., and the owner of the apartment returned to find his door open and unlocked.

BICYCLE BURGLAR
Cops are looking for an unknown suspect who stole a man’s bike and punched him several times in the face at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 7. The perp punched the man five times and took his bike at the corner of Eighth Avenue and 66th Street. The victim was not severely injured.

THREATENING THIEVES
A 47-year old man told police on Sunday, July 2 at 9:25 p.m. that two unknown perps followed him into his parked 2014 black Jeep Cherokee in front of 8102 Third Avenue. One of the perps pressed an unknown weapon Into his back and said “Don’t look back or I’ll put one in you. I just want your car.” The victim exited the car, and the perps fled with the vehicle down Third Avenue. The jeep was later found unoccupied in front of 7918 Third Avenue with many of the victim’s possessions missing.

LATE NIGHT LARCENY
A 21-year old woman reported to police on Friday, July 1 at 3:30 a.m. that an unknown perp had stolen her purse in front of 8421 Fifth Avenue. The purse contained her U.S. passport, debit card, glasses, $10 and house keys. According to police, there was an unauthorized charges of $64 on the victim’s card, which was canceled shortly after. The perp has not been found.
