The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton
Nearly $2,600 worth of tools, including several drills valued at over $500, were stolen from a commercial vehicle parked on the northeast corner of Seventh Avenue and 92nd Street sometime between Tuesday, July 19 at around 10 p.m. and Wednesday, July 20 at 8 a.m. When the driver, a 34-year-old man, returned to the vehicle, he realized that a burglar had popped the lock of the rear passenger door and taken the contents.
No arrests have been made.
A chain pharmacy at 93rd Street and Third Avenue was robbed of around $1,234 worth of medicine by two crooks on Tuesday, July 19 at around 9:12 p.m. One of the perps acted as a lookout while the other man stole the medicine, including 15 boxes each of Prevacid, Nexium and Zantac.
A 32-year-old man was the victim of a knifepoint robbery while walking towards the northeast corner of Eighth Avenue and 62nd Street on Friday, July 22 at around 1:54 a.m. Cops say he was approached from behind by two robbers, described as Hispanic men between 25 and 30 years old. One of the perps put a knife to the victim’s neck and demanded he give him all his money, while the other perp prevented him from running away. The victim gave them his wallet, which held $200. The perps took the loot and fled eastbound.
AN HOUR TOO LONG
A 60-year-old left his car unlocked, and the decision cost him his wallet and four credit cards. On Saturday, July 16, the man parked his car near Fourth and Ovington Avenues at around 9:15 a.m. When he returned at 10:15 a.m., he realized a thief had opened the car door and stolen his wallet. The victim also claims one of the cards was used at a pharmacy.
A burglar broke into a home at Ridge Boulevard and 92nd Street and stole several pieces of jewelry after the home’s owner, a 39-year-old woman, went out on the morning of Monday, July 18. The woman’s children noticed that the basement door was broken. When the woman returned at 5:25 p.m., she saw the door lock on the floor. Her bedroom had been ransacked and the unknown burglar had stolen several gold necklaces and bracelets worth approximately $1,310.
